Quentin Wilson’s has said that his Fair Fuel UK campaign has been dealt a ‘crushing blow’ over parliaments refusal of a debate. Committee chairwoman Natascha Engel told FairFuelUK: “The committee has no chamber time to schedule a debate.”
It was thought that a parliamentary debate would be the outcome after the Fair Fuel UK campaign amassed a considerable backing, Quentin said: “I’m outraged. I delivered 145,000 signatures to the doorstep of Downing Street, and my FairFuelUK campaign amassed a further 100,000 in an e-petition, along with the support of 150 MPs.”
He also added: “This crushing blow sends completely the wrong message on one of the most important social issues of the moment.
“Hard-working families are being denied the right to use the roads.”
